Video production cost in Dubai: what a quote should cover

Three studios publish three maps. None of them is a market law. The useful half of the question is the process a number is supposed to buy.

Short answer: video production cost Dubai is a spread, not a tariff, and this page does not add a rate of its own. Skimbox says its figures are its own, not a survey: work starts from AED 1,500, and a one-to-three-minute corporate video averages AED 10,000 to AED 30,000. CoArt and SL Media print other bands. Use them to see what a quote is made of. Then judge the process.

A film is a claim, a script, a room, a language and a set of shorter pieces decided before the camera is booked. The price moves when any of those is vague. This guide quotes the studios that publish numbers, then stays on the process. It does not describe films this studio has shot. The service pages are video production in Dubai, corporate video and brand film.

What do studios publish for video production cost in Dubai?

Each line below belongs to the studio named. They were checked on 13 Oct 2026. They are not an average.

  • Skimbox opens its guide by saying the figures are its own, not a market survey. Video production starts from AED 1,500. A social reel of 15 to 60 seconds is AED 1,500 to AED 8,000. A corporate film of one to three minutes is AED 10,000 to AED 30,000. A brand film is from AED 25,000, scoped with the client. Skimbox also says that below about AED 10,000 for a one-day professional single-location shoot, the buyer is paying for a freelancer day rather than a full production. That judgement is Skimbox's.
  • CoArt says a simple interview or testimonial is typically AED 6,000 to AED 15,000, a company profile AED 12,000 to AED 35,000, and a directed brand film AED 50,000 to AED 150,000 or more. CoArt says those ranges were checked in October 2026 against publicly listed starting prices, and that they exclude VAT, paid media, talent usage and permit fees. CoArt also prints a worked example of one two-minute company profile, one shoot day, two locations, English audio and Arabic subtitles, totalling AED 31,520 before VAT. That example is CoArt's arithmetic for one imagined job, not a rate card you can order.
  • SL Media, on its corporate-video guide, says a standard film takes three to five weeks and then gives three bands it explicitly calls reported market bands, not its rate card: about AED 10,000 to AED 20,000 for a short single-location piece, AED 25,000 to AED 50,000 for a two-to-three-minute multi-location film, and AED 60,000 or more for flagship work with talent, a drone or CGI.

What is the corporate video production cost in Dubai, on those pages?

Even inside one phrase, the pages do not sit still. Skimbox's corporate band is AED 10,000 to AED 30,000 for one to three minutes. CoArt's company-profile band is AED 12,000 to AED 35,000. SL Media's corporate guide puts the "professional" reported band at AED 25,000 to AED 50,000.

SL Media also publishes a second guide, video production cost in Dubai, with a different corporate row: budget AED 6,000 to AED 10,000, mid AED 10,000 to AED 18,000, premium AED 18,000 to AED 30,000. On that page SL Media says a clean two-to-three-minute profile averages AED 6,000 to AED 15,000, and that figures are typically plus 5% VAT. The same firm, two URLs, two corporate spreads. SL Media's corporate page says the bands there are market ranges rather than its rate card, and points at the cost guide for the type-by-type split. If you are comparing them, compare the scope line, not the title of the article.

The disagreement is the point. A founder talking to a camera in one morning is not a three-location story with motion graphics. Length is a weak predictor. Crew, days, languages and the cutdowns are the strong ones.

What is the process, before anyone talks about a camera?

This is the sequence. It is a way of working. It is not a claim about a film already made.

  1. One claim. A single sentence the viewer should be able to repeat. If the brief says "a two-minute video" and cannot say the sentence, the length is a costume.
  2. The audience and the shelf. A brand film is kept. A corporate film explains. A social clip is replaced. CoArt's page draws that distinction, and it matches the way the work should be scoped. Decide which object you are making.
  3. The script, then the shots. Write the words. Then the list of shots that earn them. Locations come after, not before. A shoot day with a vague plan spends its money on people waiting.
  4. Languages, in the script. Arabic and English are a decision about subtitles, a second voice, or lines spoken on camera. Arabic is the official language of the UAE, and English is widely used, according to the UAE fact sheet. Choosing after the edit is how a second film gets born by accident.
  5. The cutdowns, before the shoot. The wide master, the vertical piece, the stills. Framing is a decision you cannot honestly make in the edit if the camera never saw the vertical world.
  6. Consent. Anyone who is clearly on camera signs a release, including staff. Article 44 of Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 covers using technology to invade privacy without consent. The corporate-video guide walks the same point.

How do filming permits fit the process?

Public filming in Dubai is a scheduling fact, not a footnote. Executive Council Resolution No. 50 of 2014 makes the Dubai Film and TV Commission the body that licenses media filming in Dubai, including listed free zones, and says the Commission coordinates with the owners of each location. The fee schedule lives in that resolution. This page does not reprint it. Ask the production house to confirm the current figures when it quotes.

The DFTC script-approval page says approval has to be in hand before a filming permit is issued for film and television productions. Arabic productions submit the script in Arabic. Others submit it in English. The page says script approval takes up to 25 business days. Individuals and international companies hire a local production house to file. Build that wait into the plan. A private room still needs the owner's yes, even when a public permit is not the issue.

Drones are a separate authorisation, not a lens you add on the day. The corporate video guide covers that path. If the operator cannot show the approval for the place and the date, the film is planned without the aerial.

What should a video quote list before you compare it?

  • The claim, the finished lengths, and the shapes: wide, vertical, square.
  • Shoot days, locations, and who is on the crew by role.
  • Arabic: subtitles, voice, or on-camera lines, and whether that is inside the number.
  • How many revision rounds, and the price of another one.
  • Music cleared for the way you will publish, including paid placement if that is the plan.
  • Who applies for permits, and whether the quote assumes a public location.
  • What you receive: the master, the cutdowns, the captions, and whether the camera-original footage is yours.
  • VAT, talent usage and media spend, stated as in or out. CoArt says its published ranges leave those out. SL Media's cost guide says its figures are typically plus 5% VAT. Read the line. Do not assume.

Skimbox, CoArt and SL Media can all be right about a job that matches their row and wrong about a job that does not. The process above is how you find out which row you are actually in. The number comes after that, in writing, for that film. It is not on this page.

Key takeaways

  • Skimbox says its own corporate band is AED 10,000 to AED 30,000, and says so plainly.
  • CoArt and SL Media publish other corporate bands, and SL Media's two guides do not match each other. Quote the page.
  • Decide the claim, the script, the languages, the permits and the cutdowns before the shoot.
  • This page is the process. It does not price a film, and it does not describe one already made.

Skimbox says production starts from AED 1,500 and that those figures are its own, not a survey. A social reel on Skimbox's page is AED 1,500 to AED 8,000, and a brand film starts from AED 25,000. CoArt and SL Media publish different bands. There is no single city price.

Skimbox says a one-to-three-minute corporate video averages AED 10,000 to AED 30,000. CoArt says a company profile is typically AED 12,000 to AED 35,000. SL Media's corporate guide quotes reported bands of about AED 10,000 to AED 20,000, AED 25,000 to AED 50,000, and AED 60,000 or more, and says they are not its rate card. SL Media's other cost guide puts a corporate film between AED 6,000 and AED 30,000. Compare the scope.

Because the films disagree. A single-location interview, a company profile and a directed brand film are different crews, days and edits. SL Media alone prints two different corporate spreads on two pages, and labels one of them as reported market bands rather than its rate card.

The one-sentence claim, the script, the languages, the locations, consent, and every cutdown you will need, including vertical. Framing and Arabic lines are expensive to invent after the footage exists.

For public locations, plan for one. Executive Council Resolution No. 50 of 2014 puts media filming permits with the Dubai Film and TV Commission. The DFTC says script approval takes up to 25 business days and that individuals and international companies hire a local production house to file. This page does not reprint the fee schedule. Confirm the current fees with the Commission when you quote.

No. Every dirham figure belongs to Skimbox, CoArt or SL Media, and each one is linked. The rest of the page is the process: claim, script, languages, permits and cutdowns. It does not describe a past film.
